Jesus says, “Could you not keep watch with Me for one hour? Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak” (Matt 26:40-41). One of the ways to help sustain our prayer life is to have creative praying. The followings are different models to guide your prayer time. In each of the models, consider praying 10 minutes over each point:

The Blessings of Obedience (Lev 26:1-13)

1.      Provisions in Abundance (v.4-5)

“I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees of the field their fruit. Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat all the food you want and live in safety in your land.”

2.      Peace and Security (v.6)

“I will grant peace in the land, and you will lie down and no-one will make you afraid. I will remove savage beasts from the land, and the sword will not pass through your country.”

3.      Power Over the Enemy (v. 7-8)

“You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the sword before you. Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you.”

4.      Prosperity and Increase (v. 9-10)

“I will look on you with favour and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you. You will still be eating last year’s harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new.”

      Presence of God (v. 11-12)

“I will put my dwelling-place among you, and I will not abhor you. I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be My people.”

6.      Prestige and Esteem (v. 13)

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians; I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk with heads held high.”

 The Lord’s Prayer (Matt 6:9-13)

1.      Promises (v.9) “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.”

Praise the name of God and appropriate His promises through His name.

2.      Priority (v.10) “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

Pray for God’s will to be fulfilled and His Kingdom to be established.

3.      Provision (v.11) “Give us today our daily bread.”

Pray for God’s supply and provision so that every need will be met.

4.      Posture (v.12) – “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.”

Pray for our relationship with others and the strength to release forgiveness.

5.      Power (v.13) – “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”

Pray against every form of temptation and proclaim victory over the devil.

6.      Praise (v.13b) “For Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.”

Praise and worship the Lord for His glory.
